PCT S.A. has received two Gold Awards at the Environmental Awards 2026, in recognition of its implementation of innovative environmental management practices and the development of technology-driven solutions that enhance the sustainability and resilience of port infrastructure.
The awards recognise two projects, “Carbon Intelligence Framework: Monitoring, Managing and Reducing Port Emissions” and “SMART Microclimate Forecasting Network: Enhancing Climate Resilience”, both of which form part of the Company's broader strategy to decarbonise its operations and adapt to the impacts of climate change.
The PCT Carbon Intelligence Framework is a comprehensive system for recording, monitoring and managing greenhouse gas emissions. It supports evidence-based decision-making through an integrated decarbonisation strategy, enabling the implementation of prioritised, measurable and targeted initiatives to reduce the Company's carbon footprint. The systematic implementation of this strategy has already contributed to a reduction in CO₂ emissions of more than 35% compared to the 2022 baseline year.
The SMART Microclimate Forecasting Network comprises 28 meteorological stations and leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning technologies to deliver highly localised microclimate forecasts and early warnings. The system makes a significant contribution to strengthening climate resilience, further enhancing employee safety and supporting business continuity across port operations.
