ISPS Code

As from 6th May 2011, the ISPS Code came into effect at the Piraeus Container Terminal, requiring according to Article 11 of Law 3622/2007, that vessels bound for PCT’s berths, to complete and forward to the Port Facility Security Officer, the Ship's pre arrival information forms as presented in Appendix I.

The forms must be completed and forwarded at least 24 hours before the arrival of the vessel. Failure to complete this mandatory documentation may result in the arrival of the vessel being delayed or prohibited.

PCT is committed to providing a secure container terminal ensuring that all business activities are conducted in a manner that complies with National, European and International laws and regulations. For this reason a security policy has been adopted on the basis that the security of our employees, customers and assets are essential to the successful operation of the port facility and also this policy is in the best interests of all the users of the terminal. The security policy adopted is presented in Appendix II.

As of September 15th, 2011 PCT will impose an ISPS fee per Laden Import/Export container (Local cargo) set at EURO 9, 80/container, an amount covering part of the cost for the implementation of the required safety systems.

Export Laden will be paid directly from the Shipping Line Agents and Import Laden will be paid directly from receivers of cargo.
